Chess links me to the past and the future. It takes a long time to get good and on top of your game and then when you are you feel and think about things differently. Since so much of your time is spent on chess, you think about the world differently. I'll go outside and the weather will be a certain way and it will be the same as a tournament where I had a great time at...

Chess is also consistency and discipline. Also you can only speak from your own experience, like only a grandmaster knows what it's like to be a grandmaster.
